Your local council tip will have an area for batteries
Take it to any auto parts store. They will take it for free. If you get cought throwing it away, the EPA can put you in jail with huge fines.
Autoparts stores sell the used batteries to recyclers, they should take it off your hands.
AutoZone, Advance, and NAPA i know will.
you can bring it in to a store like Autozone that sells batteries and they will take care of it for you
Take it to a recycling center, but check to make sure they take those sort those type of those things.
